Don't you love a full moon?
A poem inspired by a quote I like from Oscar Wilde:
A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world. -Oscar Wilde
Beauty and the Moonlight
Beauty walks with dreamers
Dreamers find their way by moonlight
Moonlight pulls her to the edge
Edge of sanity where her words bleed
Bleed from the moon with whom she walks
Walks past the hell within
Within she finds enlightenment in shadows
Shadows are where she dares to dance
Dance and spin recklessly close
Close to her strangely isolated reality
Reality is not what it’s cracked up to be
‘Be collected’ she reminds herself on this journey
Journey of haphazard excursions
Excursions that lead to punishment
Punishment is the dawn breaking
Breaking over Beauty
Beauty walks with dreamers

@seedsower - You'r right !
The moon has been especially bright and beautiful the last few nights here. I wanted to take some pictures of it but I was too tired this week. Hope you have a wonderful week. This is really nice words. Judi
Hello dear poet! It's just, my nature to apologize.
I love a full moon and I love your new poems, which
I just caught up with! Hugs, R. Hood
the moon is my mistress and beauty does indeed walk with dreamers...
though there is something beautiful about awakeners too i find.....
wonderful poem...loved the flow of each end meeting the next start truly like night and day
much love and care to you and yours
I am, a dreamer. R. Hood
Chrissy, I love this--I love that the last word in each line is the first word of the next...I may have to try writing a poem this way. Very, very cool!
love this poetess, provocative and haunting...love it!
hugs,
sage
that was a great poem
Very cool what you did here! I'm going to have to try this form one of these days.
that's so strange because a friend told me about that quote from Wilde and I gave my interpretation of it and then she said she didn't like it as much anymore because of me.
"punishment is the dawn breaking" yes yes yes, for those night prowlers :)
This is beautiful words dear writer. May your days and nights be filled with joy and gratitude. Judi
What a neat form! Nice write...
You really do write the most marvelous poetry
Marvelous how haphazardly we make new friends
New ways of looking at things
At least that's what your thoughts inspire
Thought I'd stop by and thank you
(Thank heaven it's slow at the office today)
Off is not on, but the only phrase I can think of
Think "Office romance" might have worked
Have a heart, it's really hard to copy your form,
Your indulgence is appreciated
Is it not hard to notice how hard it is
It would be easier to not modify last word then first
Then, as I did, start each line with the NEXT-to-lastly word
Lastly, I offer a reciprocal subscription
Reciprocal, I say, since I don't know how to round off this modified form -- so back at you.
:) :)
