this is for the
Weekly Writers Challenge no5
write a story of 500 words or less using the following words: pencil, wood, house, lamp, couch, moon and box. Once upon a time not too long ago, men and women of all ages would use pencils for everyday chores.
They would sit at night by the light of a single lamp.
They would write letters, do homeowrk and stick figure drawings. They would sit by their kitchen tables playing
Scrabbles and keeping score.
They would tell their kids to get more wood for the fireplace.
In wintertime it would be so dark.
The only light at night would be the moon.
When guests arrived they would sleep on the couch.
And there would be no computers, no televisions.
Just the radio and the grocer's phone down the road.
I found all this in a virtual, magic box called the Internet

Ooh! I love these things...but I don't have time right now. Do you do them on a regular basis?
Been doing them with three given words and no limit on the total number of words. I like the added challenge, but your chosen words are kinda on the safe side.
I always do that, but usually request three words to get me going...but it's been ahwhile...
@BADBOYDOOMDADDY - this is from Weekly Writers Challenge , open to anyone, any week you feel like it. There's also Weekly Photo Challenge , I'm sure you could enter with your artwork.
@relaxolgy - Oh, goody! I will...but I don't know about the using art in the photo thing. Wouldn't be fair (me bein' so much more than a mere camera...LOL). I'll dig out some photos...that will be fair 'cause I just aint that good.
Lol did you google it?
(the information that is).
Well done.
x
@relaxolgy - Oh, simply must mention, I am TRUE, at least in numbers, now. Haven't heard anything yet about approval for the badge. If they read my latest entry, it may not be approved. Oh, well. Wouldn't be the first time my mouth shot my own foot in the door.
@sarahsD - Which information? I puzzles to meself.
dunooo.... I was referring to this line here...
I found all this in a virtual, magic box called the InternetXox
@BADBOYDOOMDADDY - cool! you're gonna wear it with pride when you get it?! Or simply gloat?
I actually already have that TRUE badge, I've just chosen to hide it...
*slapping myself*
NO, that was just a lie!
@sarahsD - btw, is it dirty to google oneself?
@relaxolgy - lol if it is I am a very naughty gurl!
@relaxolgy - Hell, who really cares. It is based on how many entries one has, not how good they are. I have lots I don't have time to get on because I would rather be doing the new stuff. Got it only because I took a short break, and while I did, posted golden oldies. I would rather have just a few of something viewers will return to, rather than huge volumes of crap that doesn't move anyone.
@relaxolgy - It is absolutely wicked! Shame on You! I did it under my real name, and couldn't find anything. Did some of the aliases and found me there, as well as under topics I have done research in. Under one of the less common aliases, I am listed as sex offender (how did they find out...aint never been caught). It was, however somewhere I have never been and it featured a photo of someone who truly looked like a perv (I may be one, but I can pass as normal to those who don't know better).
cool take on the challenge!
I did this one before it got revised, when it was the "shaved apes adoption scam" story. lol
Very cool and very luddite. Neat!
hehe, your entry makes me want to get out a pencil and turn off the TV. I think I will turn off the TV anyway... The history of Terry Bradshaw is on...O_o
P.S. I have a True badge, but I don't know how I got it.
