most of all
I am an observer
the entity that is me
has a solid foundation
of contradictions
abandoned over and over
yet hermit by choice
so shy, so scared of
being frowned upon
yet stronger than most
standing up for myself
and those that touch my heart
so predictable and mainstream
yet the chronic exception
of most common truths
so mediocre
yet so genius at times
the secret is
I love turning
thoughts upside down
words inside out
to really get close to me
you need the courage to try on
my perspective of life
being an observer
is a gift and a curse
I see the patterns
I see the motives of others
--- but then again
they don't listen to me
since I'm just an observer against the wall

Oh I like this.
I think you have done a good job at capturing yourself here. Not that I know you very well, but you do eventually get a feel for someone (if you observe them long enough)
Loovely!

MiLady,
Well written and clearly honest! Enjoyed this! You've been linked~Kween
I have thouroughly enjoyed growing with you here on xanga, I can't say I know who you are that well, but I know your xanga persona pretty well at least. Thank you for supporting me along the way and putting up with so much of my crap. You are great, and this was very well done.
Hmm.
I'm a poetess, too.
I liked this a lot, esp. the contrasts
This is very well done. Wonderful post & poem. peace
This is a fantastic poem and I have enjoy reading this.
Fantastic! The poem is lovely
RYC: You are so right.. I know I'm in trouble when I can not cry.. or smile.. or want to talk much. Crying is healthy. peace
it doesn't make any sense that people don't listen to you because of that. It makes your perspective more valuable, and possibly more valid.
I think we have a lot in common.
This is a very nice poem.
@eadie - sincerely, thank you! In my eyes you have gown a lot on so many levels.
@Lord_Wu - people don't want the truth, or something close to it. People want someone to pat them on the shoulder, someone who always back them up.
I've learned, the more pissed of someone gets, the more guilty or threatened that person feels. So if someone fiercly slashes all your arguments -- you know you found that sore spot. And you can just walk away, knowing you were right.
Wonderful perspective.
What a lovely poem.
