  • Voting time! Xanga BEAUTY CONTEST


    oh yeah!
    it's finally time --- to vote!

    I'm very proud & pleased to present you with the twelve brave, vain and creative contestants of the very first, and maybe last, Xanga layout contest ever!


    As promised, the prize will be a small, but expensive 1,000 e-prop mini!

    But of course it's all about fane, glory and fun!


    The things to look for
    1. aesthetics
    2. originality & creativity
    3. functionality, is the is it readable, easy to navigate & download?

    please go visit all of them before making up your mind!

    There is only one vote for one site per Xangan.

    small_FogOfConfusion topi'ma freehand artist who's specialty is ink and brush. i messed around onthe site editor until i created what you see to be able to showcasesome of my art. i would like to thank natalia and druginducedduck for advice on how to do certain things. Thank you.

    small_Jenavee topMy main color theme is Yellow (as in the color of bananas) and Purple (as in the color of my hair). My main background is Mr. Munky, who is also my site's bodyguard. He has a lot of bananas. To know more about it, visit my site and look at my dancing banana cursor!

    small_Southest_Beauty top I wanted something that embodies both my personality and Xanga. So I put the depictions of the well-known proverb "Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" to represent my alter ego (CARA MIA). The phrase "The Company" at the top left corner represents the "guests" that are constantly coming in and out of my site.

    small_CallMeQuell topI made the layout from scratch; it is obviously based on this fantastic image, and I feel it reflects well who I am: Artsy, silly, and just a little bit wack.

    I made this because I created this site to be my cathartic release, anytime I feel angsty, angry, depressed, frustrated, etc., I use this site (hence why it's friends locked). Thus, I felt this site fit pretty well. Made this site from that default white-blue new theme, didn't tweak any other themes for it.

    Small_eadie top I just like the idea of having a layout that is simple, but at the same time, I want people to notice it and be able to remember it. I also like the idea of motion, that's why I incorporate it into my design.

    small_mamma_sez top My layout was inspired my new online business called Mamma_Sez. The graphic was one I designed for t-shirts last year (using CorelDraw) and thought it would look cool on a page. I wanted a blog for the business so wha-la.

    I was longing for the beach after I got back from Florida and missed it so much I brought it to Xanga. Pictures were taken by me and played around with the theme manager to set the background and modules.

    small_mama_jess top First attempt with new "themes" editing. I'm happy with it, considering html makes my head swim. Backgroud: Rainbow caught over teahouse. Header: Mermaid painted by boyfriend. Sidebars: Apricot ragged walls of teahouse. Maincontent: Overexposure during blues music. I like how the colors tie together. I think it's easy to read.

    small_moontree_studios topI'm kind of a geek and I have a background in art & web design. I wanted my site to be fun and easy to read, with lots of original art and a unique look. I also feature links to the work of other artists I know, especially fellow xangans!
