My Beautiful Mothers
My mom Mildred (78) and mother in law,Ida (93),
do most of our transplanting of the seedlings in the greenhouse.
Ida's hands have worked so hard all her life,
she is a Registered Nurse.
She worked in the hospital and also as the
Public Health Nurse for the Migrant Camps.
She was a farmer/preacher's wife
who many people admire for her testimony and strong faith.
Ida's story on video:
Part 1 Part 2
My mom is so cute, she always has broken ,crooked glasses.
(Edit:Can you see the safety pin?)
She is also one of the hardest workers that I have ever known.
She is is strong in spirit and fair, humble, slow to speak and wise.
She's my Mama!
She always takes off her shoes no matter where she is
and she is a little peanut, her feet never reach the floor!
Posts about my mom...,
She is Thrifty <<< that is a funny story!

I also have a beautiful Xanga Mom,

To all my mothers I say
Happy Mother's Day and I love you!

i have never been first on your site. i am usuallly up there in the 70's....
You mom's are beautiful!
Those are great pictures. The fact that they're such hard workers is awesome. We need more women like that! :) The last photo is cute - I wonder how it feels like to not have feet touching the ground whenever I sit
Coz mine always does! LOL.
HOW abosolutly BEAUTFUL
They are both so cute! I love that her feet don't touch, how adorable!
My mom was barely 4'11" and loved her garden. It is so wonderful that they are both still able to be so active in the greenhouse. Such great helpers. So many of our greenhouses have their stock shipped in and don't really start seedlings.
I love a lot of your pictures of flowers, but these "flowers" are the best. I know that these two women are precious. Good for you for keeping it in the family! Peace
Beautiful post, Seedsower. The pictures speak a thousand lovely words.
Love tribute to both mothers.
It looks like they were having fun while they worked as well.
Such wonderful pictures!!! Beautiful women! Happy Mothers Day to all!

They look like best of friends. I admire these ladies!
Beautiful! :)
What a great post and great pictures. You are indeed blessed!
Wonderful tribute to your mom and MIL...Happy Mommy's day to all of you!
Her glasses don't look broken
My mom's about 4' 8" these days, but refuses to change it on her driver's license which still reflects 4'11"
Do her feet/ankles swell much from hanging'm? Mom's and mine do.
@AcidSam - Look closely at her left side of her glasses arm and see the big safety pin!
so blessed to have them both in your life still... cherish that!
that is so cute. You really know how to appreciate the best in people.
They look happy!
i see the safety pin. happiness is the secret to a long life.
What a lucky girl you are........Happy Mothers Day to you All!.......ilym
i used to have sunglasses like your mom's. my head is really little & it has been tough finding frames that did not look little-kidish for me. now that i am wearing bifocals & not able to wear contacts, it is even more of a challenge...
i also think your post is a lovely tribute for mother's day!
Now this is the kind of post that is worthy of "featured content"!
