one of the twins asked me what I was doing.
Then...I heard him say to his sister
"Did you see Bessie's Birping-socks".

Love this! I had a kid story that I can't share on my sight because my dear friend would be hurt. My 4 year old was at a H.S. musical production with me (my hubby directs this group of kids). One of our dearest friends came out to do a special song with the High Schoolers and when he got to the microphone and the soft music started she said, in a loud voice, "Mama, he's fat!" I was horrified! He is overweight and we were sitting right at the foot of the stage so he looked even larger to her....... I blushed, explained to her that it wasn't polite to call people "fat" and promptly told my older children that if the conversation came up later to reply that she had said, "Mama, who's that?" instead!! I sincerely hope he didn't hear her. It was one of those brutally honest child moments that I always dread. Sometimes those childhood sayings are sweet and sometimes they are scary!
