Interesting

This to me is a very progressive ruling... which some of our US states who play nasty games with tax refunds should heed in principle from a natural rights perspective...

Court Rules Against Greek Failure to Pay Interest on Overpaid Tax

The European Court of Human Rights rules that refusal by tax authorities to pay interest when refunding overpaid taxes can violate property rights guaranteed by the European Convention on Human Rights. In a unanimous decision, an international panel of seven judges says the Greek government violated the rights of a gasoline firm under Article 1, Protocol 1, of the convention, which guarantees "peaceful enjoyment" of possessions.

Ahh, too bad Human Rights Courts don't have the final say. The brilliant are never appreciated.
