Le sighSo yesterday was a bizarre and interesting experience.
Work was fairly straight-forward. I’m a little overwhelmed with work right now but such is the nature of the beast.
In related good news, I finally got my CPA license in a jurisdiction I’ve been waiting on. One of the bizarre things about multistate practice is that some states actually require you to be licensed in the state to sign certain returns or do certain actions (e.g., New York requires a NYS licensed CPA to be named on a Power of Attorney for full ability to represent a client before the Dept. of Revenue). So yea me!
One of my co-workers had her birthday yesterday so for dinner several of us from the office, her fiancée, her parents, and a former co-worker all went to a local steakhouse. It was expensive and kind of tacky how old-deep-South it was trying to be, but the food was actually quite good. The twice-baked potato was loaded with paprika, an interesting combination.
After dinner, I met up with some of the law school guys at a bar… some young man thought it’d be a good idea to take his pants off, only to reveal that he’d covered “himself” in saran-wrap—and only saran-wrap. To me, this bespoke of a desperate, pitiful cry for help.
and strangely enough… a law school professor was there. That was freakish…. more on that later.
A bizarre bizarre day, all things told.
