  • What good is a camera phone, if . . .

So we're driving to taekwondo yesterday, just turning out of the neighborhood, when I do a doubletake and realize there are 2 baby raccoons walking along the sidewalk, right by a drainage duct. I stop the car and alert the kids to look out the back window. I reach for my cell phone and turn on the camera, venture out of the car and try to get as close as I can without scaring off the cute little varmints. I take a picture and get back in the car. The masked bandits start wandering toward the creek.

We drop off L-man to practice his weapons, and on the way home C-man desperately wants to see the picture:

Me: I couldn't get very close, there's no zoom, so I'm not sure how well you'll be able to see them.
C-man: I don't care, let me see it! (I open the phone and try to find the picture, flipping through options and tools, no idea what I'm doing) Push the camera button!
Me: I don't see it here, I don't know where it went.
    C-man: Take my picture.
    Me: What?
    C: Just take my picture.
Me: OK. *proceeds to take his picture*
C: OK, now what did you do next?
Me: *seeing the save/erase options and realizing I had selected none of them* Oh no, I shut the phone.
    C: Ma-ah-m-m, that was a once-in-a-lifetime moment!

Curses, foiled again. Next time, I'll know what to do, haha! Here's a pic of what they looked like, only there were just 2 of them:
