 JIVANMUKTI SIVA

Om - - - to my lord ' Siva ' I bow
counting the graces in repeating
Siva - your holy name, as a light
you shine to dispell the darkness
the world vanishes - you - only remain
-you - are the day of my life -you - the life I live
there is no illusion when -you- are present
ash from -you- falls on me as I sit below
the fire of Siva's name sounds in my mind
ash of that fire covers my heart's lotus
the jivanmukti is undisturbed in peace
he is in Siva his lord and that is all
untouched there is simplicity - you- only remain
there can be no words -- being in SIVA
know this truth "SIVA" alone is the way
there can be no other way, there is no duality
in this light there is no darkness
siva is without parts, no divisions are here
illumined sages all know this truth - Siva's name
what else can there be in this saivite life???
no doubts - delusion are there in eagerness
to remember Siva, lord of all, lord of none
the saivite sits before the linga - before his self
SIVA murmurs in the silence, ' Bhakti Reigns '
high as Kailasa, the mountain the yogi, the firm !

Poetry from Shankara's Siva Recollections.
