Another casualty of the power surge
...was the Little Missy's computer. Here's all that's left of the CPU:
I took the CPU to work with me yesterday, and one of my desktop support buddies determined that the power supply was fried, but he was able to pull out the hard drive and back it up to DVDs. So, the lucky Little Missy did not lose her iTunes and digital photos as we feared.
I guess we'll be shopping for a computer very soon...

My best bud Jude and her hubby kept getting power surges one year, I think their insurance ended up buying them three T.V.s in a row. I think that was before they had a computer. I just remember all the teevees they went thru that year, after the first couple it was slightly ridiculous, but at least they're b.o.p.c. went to bat with the insurance and backed their story.
When our laptop crashed, winter before last I cried because I thought we had lost all our pictures. You can sure bet I started backing them up after that......speaking of.....se ya, got discs to make.
Ooh, I'm glad she didn't lose her files! We're in thunderstorm season now, I always try to remember to turn off the computer at night just in case (we do have a surge protector, but better safe than sorry.)
