  • She, in the Mirror, Who Stares Back

She, in the mirror, who stares back is unkind today.  Nothing reflected pleases her.  This shirt is too short.  That shirt is too tight.  This color is wrong.  This lock of hair is nonconformist.  The body she sees?  Not so fond of it at the moment.

"Why are some days like this?" the reflected one wonders.  Perhaps a lack of sleep.  Perhaps the scale moves in the wrong direction.  Perhaps it's just one of those days.  Perhaps something larger and more sinister is at work.  Perhaps it's all of these things . . . or none of them.

Sheryl! Thank you for the gift! I think that the Ariel you sent me rocks! She's going right on my desk at school. *smiles* I shall display her with pride to all who enter Janessa's chamber.

It would have been lovely to see you when my mom and dad were there last week. I was up working at a couple of camps for two weeks, though. Had a blast, though I wish that I could have been in two places at once.

Some things that I've gotten to do recently have been sparring with a karate black-belt, spending the night out in the open on a mountain, spending the night out in the open in the desert, and diving into a pool beneath a waterfall in a canyon with all my clothes on. *smiles* Fun stuff, wot?

Hope you are doing really well. Thank you again for the fun gift! I liked it a lot!

I am convinced that you can look different to yourself depending on the day.  Definitely happens to me.  I often wonder, how is it that I felt thin yesterday when I look so fat in the mirror today?

    I love you.  Soul
