The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most

someday my prince will come...

when I got home last night, I watched Barbie as Rapunzel with Lydi-loo and Glenda. It reminded me of how great princess love stories are when your a girl...and how much I love being one...

...and it reminded me of this poem I wrote. let's hear it for poetry. oh, how I miss it.

What Is True Love--To Kill For Or To Kiss?
(the true, but lesser known hero of Snow White)

Dear Snow White, I will not let you die.
Run--as fast as angel wings fly
Away--never come back

Undying devotion--a mere servant's gift to this face of innocence

Deceive the wretched witch to save the blessed child, Man
Take up the knife, slaughter the sacrifice
Of unclean flesh--
Once cool and clean turns now to bloody knife
What once was full of life, is now an empty chest

Redemption beats in a velvet-lined box

Cursed Queen, where is thy grasp now?
For secrets go to the grave
In forests black as this--

Black as the eyes that make this man willing to risk it all

thanks for the sincere thoughts. it's amazing how when i write things it helps me see things more clearly. i already see things in my post that need to be clarified and others that are not quite right. i'll be looking forward to part 2 and will post the developments in my mind by next weekend.

in Christ alone,
stanley

--that's not to say that i'm persuaded away from my position

p.s. your lack of capitalization and proper punctuation in your comment reminds me of e.e. cummings or that other guy that wrote poetry in big blocked paragraphs without any punctuation

My dear, I love this poem. (It inspired me to write a history of our friendship...)
Seriously though, it's really good, Ash. Seemed so appropriate to read after yesterdays message on redemption- even if you didn't mean it in that way....
I was going to post the song that was in my head last night "Do you love me?" from Fiddler on the Roof, because that's what some recent posts reminded Jamie and I of.... I shall say no more until I see you Thursday because I am beginning to dislike xanga. (always frustrating to debate via the internet, I believe)
