| | I went under the cosmetic knife again today. Two of my doctors were out of the office, so I let Dr. Lambert remove a cyst from my neck and moles off my scalp. The neck area is starting to throb, I don't know if it's from what she did or if the 5 sutures are starting to pull. I'm just glad the thing is gone...been there nigh unto 20 years. "Course things was different back then ya see. None of this was here...all this was in corn ya see." There's a voice to go with that, but it's hard to do here. Anyway, I'm also glad the big mole is off my head. I honestly think it was developing a second hand...all I need is a mole with delusions of world domination.
Seems like something happened to me recently and I really wanted to post it on here, and for the life of me, I can't remember what it is. (Editor's note: this is where hvnslittledevil will make all the comments about being old & senility setting in.) Oh I remember now what it was. Yesterday something was mentioned about smoking and growing tobacco and what not, and one of my doctors (who shall remain nameless...I usually just refer to him as "asshole") made a comment about people who raised tobacco were contributing to cancer. Naturally, having grown up in a family that did raise it, I went on the defense saying that for some people, that was the only option they had to make ends meet. He just kept giving me this smug look, and I know what was on his mind. He was thinking if people got an education they could make a living some other way, but you have to understand, this guy looks down on everybody who doesn't earn over $100,000 a year. I was getting so pissed off. He said, "This must be a sensitive subject for you..you're getting flushed." I said, "You're right, it is a sensitive subject and I'm not backing down from it." And then I did the one thing he can't stand more than anything else...I refused to break eye contact. We stood a full minute staring at each other till he looked away. I'm not saying I endorse smoking, but I grew up in a region where that's all people knew how to do, and my parents made honest lives from it and I will not stand by and let some asshole from India who went to prep school in England try to judge what people have to do to earn a living. Especially when 50 billion of his countrymen are living in squallor...if the ecology in India favored tobacco growing, I have no doubt there would be plenty of them raising it. Ok, I'm off my high horse...you can go back to your lives, lol. |
