| | Which Jason & I actually saw. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Thursday I took my mom to lunch and told her about Jason. I think she handled it ok, being as this is only the 2nd time in 3 years we've discussed my being gay. At one point I said "I wouldn't be uncomfortable introducing you to him, not like I would have been had you met Kevin. I don't know what would have bothered you more: the fact I was bringing my boyfriend home or that he was a Jehova's Witness." (Ed. note: no offense to any J.W.'s who may read this, but as a Missionary Baptist, we're trained from birth that you rank right below the Muslims on the heathen scale. ) She sat there quietly for a moment, and I said "C'mon Mom, there's humor in that!" She said, "He's not one, is he?" She can handle I'm dating a guy, just so long as he's not J.W. That's my mom, lol.
Jason came over Thursday night and I had supper waiting on him. It's so sweet being so domestic...if only I hadn't been in the middle of a genocide attempt on gnats. My home had been invaded all week and I was declaring a jhad on the insect world. "Lemony fresh victory is mine!!" Anyway, we played a few hands of Magic but didn't stay up too late. Got up Friday morning & went for my eye appointment, I was only 3 years late getting around to it. It's amazing what a new pair of contacts will do for a boy. I took us to lunch at Pizza Inn (spinach and buffalo chicken and dessert pizzas, oh my waistline!) Then I took Jason to the card shop to further feed his obsession with Magic. When we got home we had planned on playing, but the sleepies moved in and we fell into a carbohydrate-induced coma on the couch from all the pizza. I slept a little over an hour and after I woke up I just lay there enjoying the feel of my man in my arms. When we finally got out of our sluggishness, we sat down for a serious Magic marathon (I'm tellin' ya, the boy is obsessed, lol.) Saturday morning was pretty much the same (Magic), and then we got ready & headed over to Cristie's abode. I brought the rain with us (we hit a frog-choker right at LaFollette), so we didn't get to go swimming. What we did do was go for some really good Chineese (where we saw this woman who, honest to goodness, her face had had more work done to it than 'Frisco after the quake! People, if I could have figured out a way to get my camera phone out & got a picture, I'd have her immortalized here!) and then to Wal-Mart to buy Scattagories and Imagine If..... We sat outside with Tabitha and had a blast playing those 2 games, although I think poor Tabitha was taking offense to the answers we gave for Oprah during Imagine If....
In a rare (and perhaps unprecedented) act of kindness, Cristie let me & Jason sleep in her bed. And that's all we did people...sleep!! Cristie & Tabitha camped out on the floor (Tabitha staring daggers at me "You stole my bed!") and while they whined, they enjoyed it, I could tell.
So it's back to the real world for a while now. I've got to cover one of the other offices tomorrow & 2 days next week...ack! We're still waiting to hear on Jason's job offers, so it's just hurry-up-and-wait with him, unfortunately. Bless his heart, he's got so much stress right now, including something else going on in his inner-circle. I just hope that mess gets resolved soon, I hate seeing him being upset by it.
Meanwhile, here's a picture of my babies for you to enjoy!
