| | We managed to break the bed last night. And no, it wasn't the way you're thinking, although it should have been. Now, this may be a little more...in depth...than what I normally post, but we're all old enough for these discussions, right? Actually, Cristie is old enough for several of you, but that's neither here nor there. Suffice it to say me & my hunnybunny hadn't seen each other for a week, and we were both feeling amourous. It was one of those moments right out the Harlequin romance novels...he was gently tugging me towards the bedroom out of the bathroom while we were kissing...pulls me down onto the bed...WHAM! The mattress falls out of the frame on the upper left side. Now, understand, this is not an uncommon occurance. The slats, especially the middle one, have a bad habit of coming out of the frame 'cause this bed frame was bought back in the 40s or 50s I guess, and my theory is the frame has shifted out some. Anyway, I had taken the middle slat out and moved the other two closer together to make up the difference. So we put things back together, get gently into bed, no problems...decide we wanna get back to where we were...I roll him over on top of me...WHAM! The mattress has now fallen out on the right upper side. After a few choice words, we get up, replace everything, and decide once more to try to make sweet love down by the fire...WHAM! This releases a torrent of dockside cussin' from my part, which included the phrase, "F**k this, I'm takin' this frame apart right now." I had the bed disassembled in 2 minutes and the frame thrown into the back bedroom. My box springs and mattress are currently on the floor of my bedroom, which, incidentally, feels like there's more support now. Ye gods, what I go through for a bit of sweet love. |
