You'll be happy to know this is the last Star Wars based posting...
...until I get back from convention with all the pics. Maybe after that I'll be putting up something that won't bore you to tears.
Jason is asleep right now. I took a quick nap myself but don't want to overdo it as I need some sleep tonight to be able to drive to Atlanta in the a.m. I've still got to pack my suitcases, finish up taking care of the house to be shut down for next few days & doing last-minute checks on everything. Jason keeps saying how excited he is. I'm really glad he's looking forward to this, although he needed some vacation time period. The excitement hasn't hit me yet. I figure it will about the time we hit Atlanta tomorrow. Los Angeles will be as exciting to me as the convention itself.
So here's the last quick movie review. Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. And what revenge it was. Finally all of Sidious' plans come to fruition with the downfall of not only the Jedi order itself but also pretty much getting rid of any authority the Senate once had. We wouldn't see the dismissal of the Senate till around 20 years later, but that didn't matter as they were pretty much castrated when he declared himself emperor.Of course, the idiots gave him power without restriction in the name of protecting the Republic's interests during the crisis of war. That sound familiar to anyone? Or as Padme said, "So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause." One of the most chilling lines in the whole film is when Palpatine stands there and says, "I am the Senate!" To me all 3 of these films had thinly veiled references to our current political woes scattered throughout them. Anyway, among all that drama we got treated to some of the coolest lightsaber battles in the whole series and really, what more could you ask for than that? I still have a hard time deciding which I liked better...Sidious vs. Mace Windu or Sidious vs. Yoda. Does it show I have a yen for the Sith?
