| | Someone up there has a sense of humor.Since I worked so hard at getting the house presentable, Someone must have decided I needed to keep on working hard & therefore increased the work load in the office. This week has been crazy, I've not gone to lunch on time in the past 3 days and I've worked over the last 2 evenings. And the flu hasn't even started here yet. So after much ado, the house was finally ready for company...well, company that I don't get to see every weekend anyway. I managed to screw up the fan on the coils of the 'fridge, so Jason got that goin' for me again whilst I was in the shower. He even cleaned under there, bless him. 'Course he had to move the fridge, access the motor from the back, clean up who knows how many years of built up grime & then move it back in place. I knew I kept him around for some reason. Anywho, Richie & Jason (yes, Richie has a b/f named Jason too) made it here around 2pm and we had a good visit. The 3 stooges were a little unsure of how to be around them, but it worked out ok, I think. We kinda moved in small social circles in the house, which is an accomplishment considering how small this place is. One of the funniest moments was when I fell asleep talkin' to Richie. He has this very soft voice & usually speaks in a monotone and we were sitting on the couch, the house was warm, it was grey outside and the others were talkin' in the kitchen...and the next thing I know, my head is snappin' up and Richie says, "You fell asleep, didn't you?" I couldn't help it, it was just too relaxing. We had meant to go to Knoxville to eat since it was Chris' birthday on Sunday & Cristie's coming up (which was today, btw...the old bat is 30) but time got away from us, so we hit a place in Tazewell, which I have to say has some really great food, considering it's small town but Richie's Jason said the filet mignon he got was better than any he could get in Lexington, KY. After we got home & company had left, we brought out the ice cream cake birthday cake for Heckle & Jeckell. Oh and we brought out the pinata too. I don't think Chris appreciated the Disney Princess theme to it, but oh well. I had filled it with all kinds of goodies, and we sat in the floor after it had been opened to enjoy it. Cristie made the comment that we, as adults, spent way too much time playin' with little kid's toys. Chris said, yes we did. But watching Jason spin all those tops was funny. Bless his heart, he was so upset 'cause me & Richie sat there & talked about absolutely nothing for hours. (Honestly, we talk about nothing: we argued for 30 minutes over what was causing the noise in my ceiling fan...gremlins or John Wayne.) I tried explaining to Jason that that was how we are, but since he's so paranoid he refuses to believe me. I may try to show him otherwise. |
