I...am...so...pissed...off!! You guys...seriously...I'm so pissed off today. Everything just set me in a sour mood. I managed to play nice with the patients but I was extremely snippy with the doc. I figure if I have to deal with his moods, then he has to deal with mine.
Then I get online tonight & I start reading about the government's plan to bail out a bunch of homeowners who are in danger of foreclosure. I clipped the following paragraphs from a story on MSN.com: "The bill would let hundreds of thousands of homeowners trapped in mortgages they can’t afford on homes that have plummeted in value escape foreclosure by refinancing into more affordable, fixed-rate loans backed by the Federal Housing Administration." "It includes about $15 billion in housing tax breaks, including a credit of up to $7,500 for first-time home buyers for people who bought homes between April 9, 2008, and July 1, 2009. It also allows people who don’t itemize their taxes to claim a $500-$1,000 deduction on their 2008 property taxes. That chiefly benefits homeowners who have paid off their homes and can’t claim a deduction for mortgage interest." 2 things about this add to my pissy mood. First, the fact that these people are "trapped in mortgages they can't afford". Wanna know why they are? 'Cause they made a business decision. They decided to try to make money in a red-hot real estate market where they would buy a house, then sell it later for a profit when the value went on up. But the market crashed, and now they are stuck in houses they can't afford. Well boo-fuckin'-hoo. Do you think Uncle Sam would bail out Wal-Mart if they did the same thing? Hell no, so why should these people be pulled out of jam they willingly got themselves into?? The main reason I bought my house was because IT WAS THE ONLY ONE I FOUND THAT I COULD AFFORD!!! And for 7 years I've made every single monthly payment ON TIME without taking the grace period. Why? 'Cause I took to heart what my dad told me when I was younger, "You've got to stand on your own two feet 'cause no one else is gonna do it for you." The 2nd thing that pisses me off is the tax breaks some of these people are gonna get. Because I don't have a 6 figure mortgage, I don't pay enough in mortgage interest to be able to deduct on my taxes. So because I've been a responsible person, my tax dollars have to bail out someone who was not. Where is the justice in all this?!?! And now, on a lighter note....
