  • What is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

I have an old clunker car, but no car payment which helps now that I am self-employed.  A few years ago my tailpipe pretty much rotted off.  I was worried that I was carbon monoxiding myself and any passengers until I made enough money to get it fixed.  I mentioned this in passing to the owner of the studio where I was working and his friend said "give me the keys, I will have someone who I have work on my commercial vehicles look at it, he owes me a favor anyway."  I was embarrassed and said I would take care of it and there was no need to take my car to him.  He insisted and it was easier to just give him the damn keys.  He was gone less than a half hour and said the guy looked at it but didn't have time to fix it.  I said that was fine and thank you anyway.  A week later, the owner of the studio asked me how my car was running.  I said Ok I guess, I was just ignoring it till I could fix it.  He said to go look at the tailpipe.  His friend had called earlier that morning and asked if I had said anything about my car.  Unbeknownst to me or the owner until that morning, his friend really had had a brand new tailpipe installed the day he borrowed it.  I never noticed it!  I drove all week with my window cracked and my radio turned up and was totally oblivious to the fact that it was fixed!  Talk about feeling happy and shitty at the same time!  The man refused to take any money from me (or any sexual favors! just kidding)  and according to the studio owner, he just goes around helping people like that.  (This is pretty much related to the previous featured question about a Good Person.)

    Greetings my friend!

Would you mind praying for the poor and oppressed?

A prayer to pray DAILY: [Psalm 82: 3,4]

    Petitions:

Heavenly Father, I ask you, in the name of Jesus Christ,
to defend the cause of the weak and fatherless
and to maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.

Heavenly Father, I ask you, in the name of Jesus Christ,
to rescue the weak and the needy
and to deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

    Confession of receipt:

Heavenly Father, I believed that I received,
in the name of Jesus Christ, what I just prayed for when I prayed for it.

    Thanksgiving:

I thank you Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus,
that you are defending the cause of the weak and the fatherless
and that you are maintaining the rights of the poor and the oppressed.

I thank you Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus,
that you are rescuing the weak and the needy
and are delivering them from the hand of the wicked.

    Best regards,
    Doug

Thanx for the comment earlier, can i add you as a friend?
