| | I technically had no time to check Xanga and update mine since last week until now. It's like I have done a lot of things.
I finally moved out of Boston on Wednesday. Before that, I spent a lot of time packing and saying goodbye to people in town. Honestly I don't have many friends in Boston, but I believe I maintained good friendships with many of those. I am more like a guy who values quality over quantity. Anyway... oh, it's good to realize that I can play Mahjong as well.
I guess having "farewell" lunches and drinks with co-workers didn't count -- I believe I am going to see them quite often when they are visiting Met's LIC office and/or attending the annual Actuarial Conference etc. I didn't expect to develop good relationship with several co-workers in Boston office, due to the scatter-ness of the office and its laid-back nature.
Meanwhile, I began looking back at things I had done over the 2 years in Boston. It's kinda amazing to see some changes in my character. For some reason I volunteered to organize quite a number of activities -- from BBQs and scavenger hunt to ACB Spring meeting and SOA exams. Organizing activities was definitely something I wouldn't have done when I was still in college. It's actually a fun thing to do; plus I know many more people through these activities. Of course, I proved that I was able to accomplish those tasks as well.
Food. Right now I enjoy fine dining more than ever. I tried quite many restaurants in Boston, ranging from exceptional (in cost, too), to disgusting. I just love the dining experiences. Seriously, fine dining motivates me to work harder and earn more money =P.
I also realized that when I was disrespected to a boiling point, I could do anything I would never imagine. I don't see why people would disrespect me, since I really respect everyone around me and make friends with heart and honesty from day 1. When people decide to do that the other way, then so-be-it.
As a retrospect, I think I had a great run during my 2 years in Boston. Things change, but I view most of the changes as good ones. While I will miss the experience I had up there, I am really looking forward to my new, exciting and non-nomadic life in New York. The next 2 years of my career will be crucial -- it will decide where I will end up. So, Let's go T!!
(P.S. Aziun, I believe my entry is longer than your marathon. Don't you think so?)
