Someone asked me today if I was going to stay at my new job for a while.  It was one of the other employees here.  They said it with that little conspiratorial tone that implies an intimacy I just don't feel with people I've only known five minutes.

I just smiled the smile of the person who knows there is no way he can answer this question with a straight face.  This is one of those stupid questions like "What made you decide to temp?" or "Did you like doing the filing and answering the phone at your last job?" or "Do you consider yourself to be smarter then the President?"

In case you were wondering, loyal readers, I am at this job until something better comes a long.  I decided to become a temp because I like the uncertainty of not having any benefits, days off,  or job security.  I can think of nothing I'd rather do with my life than make your coffee.  And I consider the sand you find in poorly cleaned rotten spinach to be smarter than the President.
