Okay, I here are the first pics from the trip.  They are all from Stockholm, or the surrounding areas.  As you can see, they have a lot of snow there.

If the swedes could invent a car that ran on snow, they would never have to worry about running out.

asking directions from a native

H and M is from Sweden.

they should run these as their ad campaign

Ducks fly south for the winter. In Sweden, Stockholm is south. This duck doesn't seem to mind that most of the water is frozen over. Better skiing.

This horse is some sort of Swedish icon. Here is my honey showing me how to ride bareback.

A lesson in Swedish:
This building is called "Stadhussen," the compound word, directly translated means State House. It is their city hall.

This a view from the Royal Palace. I had to brighten it significantly as it was taken after 3PM. There is only daylight in Stockholm from 10am to 2:30pm. During the winter, that is.

This is what happens when I think too hard.

RYC:  I suspect it is because you guys have a life.  Well, and work.  My "work" is morning and afternoon.  11-3 is usually meetings and other activities.  I have a lot of free time.

Those pictures are great.  I really want to visit Sweden sometime, although I may choose a warmer season.

I thought we were supposed to drop "bareback" from our vocabulary.

It took me entirely too long to understand what you meant by "thinking too hard." I thought you were saying that when you think hard you turn into a statue, or at least a certain member of yours does. But then I got my head out of the gutter and saw the smokestake.

Last night I started laughing hysterically about the time you set your Xanga to Pacific time to fool Ernie into thinking that you weren't blogging from work and he picked up on it in a matter of hours.

RYCRMC: I got the reference.  I was just enjoying the innuendo.

I want more pics!  Why are there pics from the palace and not OF the palace?  Are you supposed to ride the horsey or was R being a delilict?  I would never be able to live anywhere w/ that little sunlight.  glad you guys had fun and made it home safely!

That looks great.  Maybe I'll have to visit my relatives that live over there some time...ok I'd probably just go and skip the relation.  I grew up near a swedish town so Dalahästen were all over, though I must say that's the first one I've ever seen being rode.

RYC: Bethlehem itself is 50% larger than Manhattan, but the entire area appears to have a much higher population than this area.

Wow...awesome pics.  It's good to see that Canada isn't the only place that gets loads of snow.

Just looking at those pictures gives me seasonal-affective disorder.  I'm S.A.D.  Hee hee.  They have one of those horsey things in my hometown in front of this one store.  I think it's some sort of traditional swedish craft item, like Ericsson cell phones.

lol!  I love the pictures.

I'm glad, in a way, that he shaved.  In all honesty, I think that I was the only that liked it--even he got sick of the beard.
