  • Where has the time gone???  It's been two weeks since I've posted, and I certainly didn't mean for time to get away like that.  Hmph.  I guess it's not like I've had anything profound to say that I'm depriving anyone of.  I am still pondering some thoughts that I'd like to share eventually, but I need to be able to sit at the computer without feeling that I need to be somewhere else, doing something else, in order to put my thoughts down coherently.  So, we'll see when that happens.

In other news, we're still shifting things from cutting out that wall and opening up a computer room just off the dining room.  I am sitting in said room, kind of like a nook, at my computer with my new (new to me, any way) computer desk, instead of the makeshift piece of furniture that has sufficed for the past many years.  All of Rein's computer stuff is in here, too, as well as my 7 foot tall oak bookshelf.  But... my huge oak desk didn't fit.  Well, it would've, except we wouldn't be able to actually sit at our desks or move around at all.  So, it is on one of the walls in the dining room.  Certainly not what I had planned, but I think it'll all work in the end.  I bought a couch and chair from Goodwill for $50 with the intent of getting them reupholstered... but I'm running out of fun money.  So, they will still look okay once I get the living room repainted.  I'm pretty eclectic in my style (if I even have one) any way, so it's not a big deal.  For now, though, we have to figure out where all this STUFF is going to properly go, since Asher will have a house full of friends here next weekend to celebrate his graduation.  All and all, the space is more open, and I do like that.

I've also been enjoying soccer *every* day on the ESPN channels.    Asher has me hooked.  It's the Euro 2008 tournament, which is like the World Cup Lite, with only the European nations.  Tomorrow begins the quarter finals.  It's been exciting.  The final game is the 29th of this month.  What AM I going to do when it's all over???  I may go through withdrawal for awhile.  But I am not subscribing to the FOXSoccer Channel to have it 24/7.  Clearly, I wouldn't be able to handle being responsible and having that much soccer available all the time.  I'll just take whatever ESPN throws my way, thank you very much.

I've been enjoying my time in the morning in the books of John, Psalms, and Proverbs, as well as reading a book by John Bevere, Honor's Rewards.  I only read one section of each, so that I can keep moving through the morning, but that gives me plenty to digest and meditate on, as well as springs me off into prayer on many issues and for all the people the Lord brings to my mind.  One overwhelming thought lately is just how deep our Lord's goodness is.  I looked up "goodness" in the dictionary once, and I was amazed and overwhelmed at the broadness it encompasses... and that's just a smidgen of all that God encompasses in His goodness.  That's just been a lot to try to digest lately.

Well, the dryer is buzzing at me, the dishwasher wants unloaded and relaoded, and the bills on my desk are crying out to be paid.  With all this *noise* around me, I suppose I'd better get off here and see to all that.

I hope you're all doing well and having a great week.

Wow. It's been two weeks? It seems like it's been a lot longer since you updated. . .

The soccer matter is a big one. Yes, watching games every day and then having no Euro is a big deal. I understand the fact that you may withdrawal a little. I think that is probably a normal reaction. I think it probably is. I won't suffer too much. I never got to watch much anyway, because my siblings always have the TV. That's alright.

I'm a great laundry folder. If I was near, I'd help you get it all done.  I've been folding laundry for a very long time. And I been trained in the proper ways to fold everything. I don't know why I said that. It's very obvious that I can't help you. . .

Ummmm, I think it's time your xanga got updated with a new look.  This is not cool any more...... If Tori doesn't do it soon, I'm going to.

Ah! Home improvement projects. I actually love them, but living in the midst of all the work can be a challenge. I love open space, so your project sounds wonderful. What a blessing that you were able to do something that will make your home more functional.

Hey, here's an idea for recovering the couch you bought at Goodwill (until the funds enable you to do what you really want to do). Try using painter's drop cloths. They can look really neat, and you can even PAINT them to personalize the look. I think it would be fun to have an autograph couch... give everyone a paint pen and have them "sign" your couch. Then, when the funds roll in and you are able to reupholster the couch, you will have a sentimental souvenier (and blanket) to keep and remind you of all the special people the Lord brought to sit on your $50 couch. Hugs!
