Hmm... where to start? Whenever I realize I haven't written in ages, there are so many things to write about, but I still can't find the time to write about everything.
I'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks because everyone else went on vacation. I worked for 2 weeks and then get a 2 week vacation. Work is great and I love my co-workers. It can get a little boring at times, like when we're waiting for the developers to release a new build and can't access the site... but then we just sit around and chat and goof off or go out and buy ice cream in the square.
Our job as testers is to test the product, so obviously if the product is offline we can't do anything. I'm getting paid a lot more then QA testers in the US. It's a comforting feeling to know even if I put half my income into savings, in about 3 months time I will be able to do a lot more of the things I've been wanting to do here in Europe.
In bad news my Dad broke his leg very badly and won't be able to work for a while. He's covered for healthcare because he was on the job and has good insurance, but he's 62, and has kept busy with a job since he was 17. He is extremely bored, and my Mom, (even though they've been divorced for a while), is planning on moving him in with her so he has somebody to talk to and help him move around. I don't think I've ever seen my Dad not working or not moving around, so this is a definite change of lifestyle.
Also... some dweeb on MySpace asked me if "expatriate" means I'm a traitor. I suppose he figured "expatriate" = "ex patriot". I told him to Google it... and I hope I never hear from him again. What an idiot...

I would have been a dweeb too, I wasn't aware that there was any such word or meaning for it. But now I am educated on it. Thank you Sweedifornia and Google! :D

I suspect he was making a joke. Southern humor is sometimes obscure to us Yanks.
I find that I have to write an entry within 24 hours otherwise it will almost never happen, weekend updates being the exception. Enjoy the vacation, I wish I could take 2 weeks!
