back?
well, since this is gonna be a damn boring summer, i'm going to blog throughout this summer.
so anyways, the events of this past week:
monday:
monday, monday... what did i do? oh yeah, it was "finals week". let's see... there was the "band final", and the "calculus final" (periods 1 and 6). i already took the band final on friday, so i spent the 2 hours in first period playing counterstrike on my laptop. apparently, noone's really good if they have to use a touch pad :p. well, then in calculus, bolen gave us a couple of puzzles to pass the time, and even got some kids from MAD to make some mochas for the whole class. then in 7th period jazz, churro and i had snare sectionals in the drum room, playing along to some stuff from snarescience.com, and even before 7th period ended, moreno took off, so we were left in that room, with noone else. awkward...tuesday:
hmm... let's see... it was 3rd and 5th period finals... so i have moreno for lab assistant, 3rd period, right? noone in the music department is there for 3rd period. so i'm practically locked out. so i wander around campus for 2 hours, trying not to be seen by any teachers, playing counterstrike and leeching off the school internet. then in fifth period chemistry, i played more counterstrike when we were supposed to be watching a movie. then mchaney told us a little bit of herself. her first husband was in the air force, and he died on a training flight with a student. wow, widowed at 26. she remarried again. and in case you don't know, she has two adopted asian daughters. yeah. then after that, i got lunch, which was pretty much just leftovers from the previous week. yuk. then i spent the time from noon to 3pm waiting in front of the band room for rehearsal. then yeah, 3-8 drumline/band rehearsal. drumline's gonna be good... just the bassline's holding us back. jelly was there to play bass 4 in place of christian, since he was at middle school graduation. churro needs to zone in, he messes up some of the easy stuff. quadline's the quadline- noone really talks much about them. lol.wednesday:
last day of school!!! 2nd and 4th period finals. once again, counterstrike. well, i kinda watched juno in 2nd period. i was trying to look for some episodes of dexter on the internet on the recommendation of cindy (props to you!), but i could only find promos for free. anyways, after school, i went home and babysat my little brother while my mom went out. oh, did i mention there was a graduation performance? i was freaking out, trying to get a hold of my mom. anyways, before i went, i made a concoction of 10 oz of soda, 6 oz of limeade, and 2 crushed altoids disolved in. shaken, not stirred. yum. anyways, at graduation, we weren't even paying attention, nor were we in any position that would encourage us to pay attention. the band was behind the speakers, so we couldn't hear shit. i was just hacking away on my practice pad. troy was writing a new onfield warmup on my laptop. bebo was teaching his girlfriend the basics of drumming. and i don't know what the fuck churro was doing lol. anyways, afterwards, i headed back to the field after packing up, but i just didn't feel like finding the seniors i knew and congratulating them. i don't know why, i just didn't. so i just stood there, people-watching. then i walked up down denholm and waited for my dad to pick me up.thursday:
well, first kick-back day. i still have to take summer school (ouch). anyways, i woke up like around 9, got dressed, and went to clean up the band room. we cleared the floor, and churro and i rearranged the drum room. wow, it looks so much better. it has much more floor space, and even another couch. those fools in the hornline might ask why we get a room, and why we get couches. it's 'cause we deserve it. i mean, who practices the most? hands down, it's the drumline. who's consistently got 14-30 pounds on their shoulders? we do. anyways, around noon, churro and i went back to his house to get some stuff. wow, his little sister is crazy, in her bed with a blanket in that heat. i was burning up. then we went to bills to eat. churro was being a perv and looking at bikini-clad girls in the ad magazine and showing them to me. then we headed back to the band room for drumline rehearsal. again. troy wrote a new onfield that we didnt learn. but we did learn three camps and a 16th note timing exercise. we rehearsed, broke off into sectionals. awkward moment happened when snares were in the girls bathroom and karla had to use the restroom. we just stopped playing, and it was like, yeah. anyways, my mom brought pizza for the whole drumline and pit, and we watched some div 2 corps in 1999 ('cause moreno was in the rochester patriots). then we dug into playing outside. amazingly, it wasn't much dirt, thanks in part to me and churro practicing with earplugs on. then we ended the day with... 50 pushups, on bebo's count. we were being some stupid fucks and started laughing like heck 'cause of christian's julian-like comments. i swear, he's gonna be like julian, saying the most irrelevant shit. except even more irrelevant.so yeah, i have no plans for today. maybe pig out or something. i need some more noodles...
