In other news, I'm looking for volunteering opportunities for the summer. I've got roughly two months, from approx June 15 - August 15, with no plans and a desire to serve. Props if I can find somewhere almost or completely full-time. If you can point me in any directions, drop me a line. Getting geared up for the Peace Corps or Americorps (probably both).

I'm excited you mentioned Americorps, because I just found out about it's existence on Sunday...
Aaaaaaand if you like power tools, go work with Habitat for Humanity in Laredo. They just started working on a 50 home development in a wicked-desperate part of town, and the staff is AMAZING.
yeah, definitely! and it's a christian environment, which i think will help me with all the hard work, not having to return (hopefully) to a dorm full of cynical rich-people-haters, and instead just encouraging mentorish people.
there is another farm like it in waco, too, that's more focused on researching organic farming. WHRI is all natural too, but they're more about solving world hunger. http://www.wwoofusa.org/index.html

Sorry your days haven't been so great.. it stinks. You know there are summer missionary positions open in Alaska still.. :) I don't know if thats quite what you had in mind when you said volunteer opportunities but just thought I'd let you know :).
