What steps can average people take to live a "greener" life? Do you have any tips to share?
- 4 levels of transportation whenever possible:
- Walk on short distance. Don't drive your car if is only 5 blocks down or less.
- Bike on medium distance.
- Public Transportation for long distance if possible.
- Drive only when destination is only reachable by car.
- Buy at Farmer's Market when possible
- There's no need to invest everything organic just yet, I understand is not yet that affordable, but selectively choose your favorite foods and buy them organic, like milk, bananas, etc.
- Condensed flourescent light bulbs
- Put water bottle in your flush tank to save 1/4 of water
- Install low flow shower heads
- Plan a clothes swap with your friends rather than buy new clothes. I know there is no such thing as same shape and same size for every person, but you'll save more resources needed to put new clothes on store shelves.
I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

I love the four levels of transportation.
@FemmeMrbd08 - Thank you. I kind of knew that in the back of my mind, until Ed Bagley, Jr. broke that system down for me at a radio interview.
