Internet Island intro
I fumbled apon the Internet Island Blogring just now; I find this interesting. Of course I'm scanning the WWW right now in search of ideas to put me back into writing. I have fallen so far away from now the last few years... after going through divorce and coming to be a big girl taking care of myself... Now I've managed that and I'm working on making myself over.
After a bit of looking around I decided I'll start with the the very first topic from Internet Island just to introduce myself.... ya know. So here it goes; I'll take time to write on a current topic later this evening.
1. I am a TALKER. / I am a LISTENER.
I'm certainly more of a talker. Although you wouldn't know it if you just met me, because my mommy taught me not to talk to strangers... LOL. IDK... I stay in my shell until you crack it. My friends tell me I'm a really good listener, but honestly... Most the time it's all in one ear & out the other. I'm just being quiet to be supportive...
2. I am a READER/ I am a WRITER.I am a writer. I read a lot too mind you, but I love to write.
3. I am an ARTIST/ I admire art./ I don't care about art.I admire art. A few have said I am artistic and at times I try to think of myself as an artist... but then I beat myself up feeling like I just don't have the talent or creativity... So I'm not sure... I'm artistic, and nothing turns me on more than artistic things.
4. I believe in a Spiritual essence./ I am skeptical of Spirituality.I am a Christian. I believe in the kindness, love, respect for all that Jesus was sent here to teach.
5. I care deeply about the state of the world/ I am apathetic about current events/ I am satisfied with life as I know it.I care deeply about the state of the world, but I am very willing to let God handle it. I'm artsy, not political, even tho I have a huge interest in politics.
Ok there... that's my intro... I'm may fumble through a bunch of old topics just for the sake of doing so, but I'm going to try to jump into things where they currently are.

I'll take some time to browse & read through some other members too. Cuz that is what this is all about right?

Gotta love blogrings!
Interesting multiple choice-type topic. I'd have problems with it, because I'd keep saying "talker or listener- both!" "writer or reader- both!" In other words, I'd be a real pain about it.
Dear Claire,
Thank you for subscribing to my blog, WhenWordsCollide, and for friending me, and most of all for joining my blogring, The Internet Island. Only thing I would ask for is a link to the site or the blogring in case others are interested. Also, if you haven't done so already, please subscribe to the blogsite. A new topic should be up in a few days. I'll link this entry onsite.
Welcome to the Island.
This was the very first topic back in November of 2005! I always encourage the Islanders to use the older prompts, but the internet is so fickle, and people usually only write about what's curren. I try to come up with good prompts and not repeat myself.
Thank you for participating, Your answers are pretty standard. One of the ideas I "preach" is that there is a dichotomy of life. We can't have good without bad, etc. I would work on my listening skills from what you write above. I'm DEFINITELY a talker. I type really fast too so I'm wont to leave long comments on blogs, and my entries are 599% longer than other blogs, or so a blogthing told me. Yet when others speak, I'm not just polite. And I try not to use the time when the other speaker is having his say to formulate my next tirade. Communication is the most important thing we possess as human beings.
See you on the Island.

@fullmetalbunny - I haven't known you long... but i think i know enough to say...
YOU WOULD LOL!!!!!
@baldmike2004 - Dear Mike, Thanks for the welcome. I look forward to going through more of the blogsite and finding a good muse in your topics.
From what I see you have done a good job of not repeating yourself... If you catch me repeating myself, call me out on it! lol
My answers being 'pretty standard' scares me, because I haven't read the other answers yet. I guess I'm average afterall....
But you're right, I need listening skills. I can't even take driving directions without knowing street names. All the... you'll pass this or that... blah.. huh? what did you say? Just tell me the address. OK. lol.
"And I try not to use the time when the other speaker is having his say to formulate my next tirade."
I found that totally amusing; one of my closest friends does this constantly... he's such a bugger.
Claire O'hare is my pen name; you can call me Kayte. I look forward to visiting the Isle. I'm off to explore now...
Sincerely,
Kayte
Welcome to the Island!
