  • Great Connections

    Picture 3 I saw a recent commercial from Sprint advertising their new Everything plan. I was intrigued because the new CEO, Dan Hesse, posted his email address (dan@sprint.com) at the end of the commercial. So I thought I would send him a message. Here's how it read;

    "Dan,

    Let me just say that I am a Verizon customer and have been mostly pleased with their customer service and coverage where I live in South Dakota. However, I am tempted to switch to Sprint, not because of your new everything plan (i think that's great), but because you plastered your email address on your commercials.

    I could care less about being your customer so that I can be a statistic in your reports. I want to be a customer because I know I can contact the man in charge if I need to! I want to be connected to people.

    Thanks for taking the lead in this. I hope that other large corporations follow your initiative!

    Mark"

    Here was the immediate response...

    "Thank you for taking the time to write. To truly revolutionize wireless, we need your input. It’s people like you who are using our services everyday that can provide the best perspective. We'll be looking through all the ideas and feedback we receive.

    This will, of course, take some time. I appreciate your patience until we can get you a response. A representative from my office will be contacting you in about a week.

    In the meantime, if you are interested in learning more about our new Simply Everything plan, you can find the details at www.sprint.com/everything.

    Once again, from all of us at Sprint, thank you.

    Dan Hesse
    President and CEO – Sprint"

    What is your thoughts about this??? Did the auto responder help build a relationship or push me off as a statistic?

    If you're going to throw out the welcome mat... don't lock the door.

    Seems a little insulting.  I've seen the commercial and the guy seems really genuine.  Maybe they figured (a.) you wouldn't actually write or (b.) you wouldn't be smart enough to realize it was an auto response.  I'd love to hear what the "representative" from his office has to say.
