9/30 Farewell dear dear pineapple Bill, 10/1 Winnie's home play play play, 10/4 Patrick & Lewis's birthday party

Sleeping too little these days...and in the last pic, I realized that I have a big butt too COL

不得不讚同事們的語言表達能力: 除富有幽默感外, 其栩栩如生的感觀描述真令人忍竣不禁~! (Ok I better stop now)

MSN snapshot:

"Wai Wai! 今日除有巨無霸睇之外, 仲有飛釘睇呀!"

"係?! Who?! Where!?! WHERE!?!"

"今日佢件衫薄到飛釘呀!"

"REALLY!? 巨無霸飛釘?!" (下省數十句 "嘩,  會嘔喎" 既對話)

*** Then someone burst out ***

"不如比把"徐"仔佢   叫佢"dup"番佢入去啦!"

LOL. After being all academic here goes me being a girl who'd laugh at jokes about boobies, hammer and nails. AnyWaY...

Had a very weird last week. Being ditched by the same person 3 times doesn't feel so right. Well technically it's two and a half times, but hey I am a girl, it counts as three even when the third one doesn't count. Thing is, I wasn't able to meet with Philip cos' of that- and I felt a little bad because he came all the way from SF and I won't be seeing him anytime soon. Ai. Michelle was telling me that I totally don't know how to spend my time "strategically"- like, never make yourself seem at-all available, never let the opposite have the say for everything. While I seldom put thoughts to that, what she said seem to make sense recently. Ai.

So I spent the afternoon with Michelle on Saturday, dinner with Patrick at night, and dinner with Gaile on Sunday instead. P's cats are cute. Gaile was funny too, she was kinda forced to treat me for dinner because she promised to do so if I go all the way to Tuen Mun. Ha. I like our relationship now, happy, easy, nothing too of an extreme.

Dinner with Amy and Adi tonight for some Thai food in Kowloon City. Haven't seen Adi for 10 years I think? Tomorrow will be Koufu's last day of work so I am guessing we'll have some farewell thing at night. He doesn't like me writing about him on my blog, so yea. Just one line I promise: Besides Cassie, Ryan and Mama Ou, I always know that I am the one he most spoiled. I'd never forget the times when I was in a bad shape back in CUMBA, how he came over all the way just to drop me stuffs that I wanted. Stuffs that worth a few dollars perhaps, but you know the rest.

Planning to have a house party on Wed, dinner with Jason on Thurs and DVD with Patrick on Fri. HM. No one can ditch me this week. HM.

Line of the day: 外國人喝奶結實; 中國人喝奶結石

Picture of the day: I was chatting on gchat when I asked Puipui to make a sentence begins with "Yau Jee Jare"
And at the same time I wrote my line on MSN

And guess what?! We made up the same sentence!

Kids crack me up 24/7. Dear little sister cracks me up 7-11. We were sending messages in gmail and we were just acting goofy and geeky and all that. "Heh-Heh"

Primary school kids homework sentences:

Make a sentence with: 突飛猛進             Kids wrote: 當我回家打開門時,我家的狗對我突飛猛進。

Make a sentence with: 欣欣向榮            Kids wrote: 我的弟弟長得欣欣向榮.

Make a sentence with: 皮開肉綻          Kids wrote: 停電的夜晚,到處很黑,我嚇得皮開肉綻!

照樣造句: 別人都誇我( ),其實我( )
別人都誇我( 很帥 ),其實我( 是戴面具的 )

So like today Belinda and I went to this summit thingy called the "Greater China Talent Management" because our Marketing dept got two invitation tickets there. And before I am gonna yell about the drama in the end of the conference, I'd like to be slightly academic for once and only once.

Anybody with a slight of common sense or has been paying attention in their college Econ class should know that correlation is not causation. In the evening of the conference, some featured speaker who happens to be a Professor of some sort, said that Business school select its MBA students with a formula which gives the coefficient to several variable factors, one of which as the applicant's GMAT score. And study has shown that people with MBA degree are more likely to have high GMAT score, and are more likely to be risk averse and thus less likely to becoming an entrepreneur. In his interpretations, people witth high GMAT score are less likely to be entrepreneur.

O. K.

I was almost fallen to sleep before he started saying this crap. I went to Business school with a high GMAT score PLUS a scholarship offer when I was young, so according to the study I should never be an entrepreneur. Well even though that is very likely to be the case, think again. When people are planning to go to business school- what do they want to achieve? Career advancement and networking! If they already got the money to be an entrepreneur in the beginning, do they need the degree for job opportunity? While you may say that oh, I study because I would love to expand my knowledge but nothing about career opportunity, ok, er, you are kind of a special. I can put you in a musuem darling.

So like, people with MBA degree of course would less likely to be heading for being an entrepreneur at least for the very beginning of their career life after the study. With money an entrepreneur doesn't even need a MBA degree. So are MBA degree holders risk averse? Hm. There may be a correlation there but it's not a cause. Thanks for slapping me on my face yo.

Kind of reminds me of some study a brilliant University have made: Old people are more likely to die of heat, and students from an English school are more likely to have better English than students from a Chinese school. Or like, women are more likely to be a mother than men.

鬼唔知呀媽係女人

Almost forgot to yell: our all mightly Corporate manager with his team left everything but his laptop behind right when he knew the typhoon will be hoisted. They assumed us two girls will be handling all the shits they left behind I suppose. Not to mention him giving me attitude in the morning when he found out his corporate stuff aren't inserted in invited guest's bags. Sorry but I do care less.

What really pissed me off was that he took away Belinda's umbrella without letting her know. It's an umbrella her friend got her who had passed away some time ago. Well even if he could be excused for not knowing the story behind the umbrella, he's frigging taking a girl's umbrella away when the typhoon hoisted! I don't know how Mr. Man looks in women's umbrella but please, be a man.

Captioning the first one: postcard for Lumlum/Puipui from GOD. Notice the words. I saw another one that says

"大濫交   野公園" LOL

Second one is the necklace I got from one small shop in our work building. Tomato X Pumpkin crossover haha.

Third one. Ai. Space mountain @ Disney. We went there on Saturday and as usual Ryan and I would be the only people who play. And being a space mountain fanatic my little cousin would know when to pose for the sudden shot. Cutely乞人僧 pose haha.

Happy Mid-autumn. Shopping again. After a light dinner with Vincent I went out with Michelle late at night. The Hung Hom harbour was filled with people, and Michelle had these two firecracker things she smuggled from Aust. Hehee major eyes-trapper.

Mama Mia is so fun! The theatre was filled with laughter. Songs from Abba were all so great. Gaile and I had dinner in Sushi One (again) and we just left afterwards. Some random people from Planet yoga were trying to get me into their membership. We'll see about that, being an old lazy lady and all that.

Don't want to think about the sudden earthquake in the company. Ai. With all the good people gone, what's left worthy here?

Family dinner for mid-autumn festival. Porpor, David & wife, Biu mui, Koufu and fam, Queency were all here. Dinner was alright, and then they all went to my home for a bit. The ghost story Biu mui told me cracked me up big time, haha I'm pretty sure it'll scare the hell out of Puipui if she hears it from me. Haha.

Then like, Porpor once again said, 你讀咁多書   都唔明點解你人工咁低   點解你唔搵過份工

"都唔明點解你人工咁低"

Hai...first thing is, I don't even know how she knows my salary, and like, yes I know that it's low, but then no need to slap me on my face so directly la...

Since the moment I decided to go back to Hong Kong, I have already known that the pay would be lower, at least in the first few years of my career life. MBA never feels like a thing to me- I don't think it helps me for anything except for the title that I got. Do I feel inadequate? A little. I am not good at managing people, I know that, judging from the way designers talk to me and all that. Plus I cry too easy. And that's why I don't worth the pay. Am I getting better? I don't know. Do I worth more? I hope so.

Have been thinking of looking for new jobs these few days. But then I like working here- people are so nice and fun. I like to be under Denden, he guides me a lot, and the new MD is cool (at least better than Ms. Panther). Belinda is a lot of fun, so as Bank. And I like people in the IT and Finance dept too- they help me all the time. Roy is a cool funny dude, and Mug and Joe are all cool SMs. And I enjoy teasing about Ms.11's boobs too.

But then, will there be any advancement, career wise, in this company? I doubted, especially with my crying habit- koufu once said, I should learn from Joyce- cos' at least, when she stands out, people feel that she has her stand.

So now it's like the trade-off between liking to work with these people and higher pay. Or maybe I should stay for a while to get me stronger. Plus, new designer has just came on board. Maybe I should start learn how to manage people for a little.

我是低人工    請不要看不起我

Had two glasses of baileys and a glass of beer with colleagues near the office before going home. It's fun to play with cute colleagues during "hea" times at work but then it's good to hang out with the more mature ones after work too. Steak with uncles and aunts and cousin, and Disney tomorrow. So now you see, I really was suffering in the beginning from the foot massage!

Proof of you can't-know-reality-from-what-you-see: when ginger is pretending to be all grandy (with spot light at all that~), we pretended we ate in expensive restaurant when we were just eating at Sushi One!

Uncle David and family came from Taiwan, so we all went to China the water park and stayed there for a night. Nice hotel and fun weekend- better if it wasn't raining when we were at the park- Phei and I were on the river thingy and then it started pouring rain. Kinda felt hopeless floating out of nowhere lol. With the heavy rain, storm, and people still shooting us with water and all that.

Phei and I in swimming suit = Eye candies haha (yes, go ahead and vomit, at least for my part)

Super funny @ foot massage place: IT TICKLES! I so so so wanna take my feet back but the massaging girl was just holding it, and it was sooooe  tickling in the beginning that tears actually came out. Cracked everybody even myself out lol.

Then one of the massaging girls said, "I like your face, because you have a lot of meat on it"

THANKs

Quote and quote, 我喜歡您的臉, 因為您的臉有很多肉 (Mandarin)

This sentence even doesn't sound like a sentence to me haha. AnYwAAy...

Monday: Aiya did lots of mistakes at work...aiya aiya...lunch time treated myself with a 彩晶茉香奶茶+寒天珍珠, it was SO GOOD. After work Phei came and we went shopping (2 pairs of earrings and one necklace, SO CUTE), drinking tapioca milk tea on the street and then dinner @ Sushi One. Wow people actually started waiting in line for the 10:00pm 50% off thingy since 8:30pm. We had fun eating and looking at the poor people haha. Meanie meanie...

Dear all friends: submit your smiley face to me!

happyfamily

After dinner @ Sushi One, we went to the W hotel next to the Elements.

 DSC00213 DSC00212 DSC00211 DSC00209 CIMG1139

Nice environment- from the details of decors you can tell they've put lots of thoughts to the design. A bit pricy for drinks actually, cos' the music has kinda ruined the atmosphere they tried to build up. Nice touring around for ideas though.

Next day: Dorcas is leaving for master in Cambridge so there's a farewell drinking in some club above LKF hotel. Nice chatting with her and her friends- too bad Debbie couldn't make it~

Crack me up so bad:

Mentrual Cycle LOL!

8/25: I think I cry too much haha. Today when I saw my dear dear Soff who I haven't seen for over 3 years walked towards me, tears came out again. Aww...

Sophia is still my cute funny and yet sometimes sarcastic Sophia. We talked and talked and talked and every minute was great. We talked about our old Talara and Temescal people, we

talked about work, friends, relationships, etc etc., we talked about modern Hong Kong slangs, and we found out we were both in Pattaya and Bangkok at the same time two weeks ago! It'll be weird if we actually bumped into each other in Thailand. Oh and sure enough we talked about the little girl who said I looked like 45!

DSC00203 CIMG1138

Funny moments:

Soff said she knew it's "沙嗲王" without looking at "Satay King" down below. I was like, well actually looking at the Chinese words it's already look like a "Satay King" to me. So it doesn't count.

Soff then said she knew it's "許...留山" without looking at "Hui Lau Shan." I was like, yea right, she was like, "Hey! If I read from the English words I'd say 許留Shan!"....yea...

I was teaching her the basic Chinese slangs "O 嘴" and "賣飛佛," then when I said since Hong Kong is my "地球" it's gonna be my treat, she was like, er, ACTually, this is my 地球 too. (yea...it should be my "地頭")

Volunteering on Sunday + magic bean from Mike

DSC00198DSC00194DSC00199

感想: In the beginning it was fun. Seeing over 180+ kids line up and trying hard to win on the games are fun. They watched magic shows, listened to songs, competed for finishing the puzzle, danced and jumped and all that, those were fun. Then like, towards the end of the day the organizing group tried to get rid of all the gifts they prepared for the 攤位遊戲, this is when the whole thing brought me down- the whole purpose was to bring a happy and meaningful day for the single-parent families, the Chinese immigrants, and the misfortuned kids. Then like, as the helpers were giving out more gifts for winning the game, the moms turned into a bunch of...i don't know. They first started asking for more, then started grabbing whatever is in the box, and even took a box to put whatever they can grab into it. And as the mothers were trying getting more, the kids followed. And I am talking about dozens of color pencils, snoopy dolls, hello kitty mouse pads- something you just need one or two but not a whole lot. The originality of playing a game and trying to be rewarded all meant nothing now.

Just kinda down when you see what poorness can do to people. Organizing group should rather keep the extra stuff and send them to China or something like that. Hopefully they'd learn from this event and do better next time.

幸福真係唔係必然嘛

Dinner @ Outback + watch the closing ceremony of the Olympics. Sure enough the opening was a lot more surprising and amazing but then the ending was nice too. Not so sure about the London Bus show though- they could do better I think.
