Last night I went to see Mamma Mia. I had been looking forward to this movie for a while because (1) it is a musical, and (2) I love ABBA! So a whole movie based on the music of ABBA was something I welcomed.
Now let me tell you, this is not a great movie. But it is a FUN movie. I had a smile on my face through the whole movie and I found myself singing along to the music. I hate to admit it, but I knew almost every word to every song. Scary, I know.
If anything, I would say that this movie is like High School Musical for adults. Here's a short clip:
I will be the first to admit that there is definitely a cheese-factor to the movie and Pierce Brosnan has no business singing in this movie whatsoever. But if you like the music of ABBA and enjoy a happy, fun movie, you are sure to like this one! And by the way...Meryl Streep was fantastic!

Can't wait!
I remember how in the closet we were about our ABBA-love in high school. Isn't it nice to be out! (Yeah, I not only saw the movie but the play as well when it was in L.A. a few years ago -- I'm a supergeek!)
I cannot wait to see this movie! It looks wonderful.
