Balance
When I recently had a Reiki healing session, I was taught this writing exercise to search for balance. What you do is vent, and in this case I'm using my last protected post, and then you pull out all the salient words (or phrases) and try to write out their opposites. It's kind of like doing affirmations.
oversleeping
morning vitality
sloth
spark, clarity, relaxation
couch
using floor (grounding)
TV
reading
problems:
shoulder, neck, upper back
invitation to solutions, to activity, stretching, yoga, strength training, flexibility
depressed
lighter
disgusting
refreshing
no motivation
inspiration, direction
emptiness
blank slate, my life has beautiful bones
embarrassment
security
“should know better”
being human
miserable life
precious life
shack of a house
perfect house for me
barely more than surviving
thankful for my life
work is hell
work is refuge
ashes
Phoenix
can’t see a way out
acceptance
distance
connection
conflict
peace
"Oh Divine Mother, Father, God, please take all of these states of mind which are imbalanced in this pattern and balance and clear them. Do this so that I may see more clearly and find my way home more easily. I give thanks knowing it will be done."

Exelent technique to change a mindset
@Zeal4living - yes, it's simple but useful, because it doesn't totally invalidate the negative place one starts with, just seeking balance
