WELCOME TO A WORLD WITHOUT RULES
I'm not really much in the mood to post this huge xanga entry so I'll just sum up what I've been up to in a few simple lines.
The trip to Scotland was simply AWESOME. It wasn't a 5 day trip though...more like 3 days and 2 days for travel since it took about 9 hours to get their by coach aka bus. lol.
It rains a lot here in the UK, about every other day I would guess. I'm getting quite used to the weather though I prefer california's weather over England's any day. XD
I really love kilts. I really do. I think that american men should learn from the scottish and wear kilts to formal events. Kilts are awesome. Never call a kilt a skirt though. The scottish get really angry when you do that. lol. I was also told that wearing a kilt is a very "manly" thing to do. :P My favorite colored kilt is the purple ones surprisingly since purple is one of my least favorite colors.
Now I am back in Cambridge and enjoying the less-rain days. My journalism class is such a bore though. =/ Painting is pretty fun, the teacher is really critical about everyone's work, which is good in a way. We haven't even started painting yet and the paints will cost £28. dang. I should've bought mine in the states.
I'm gonna cheat and post someone else's UK pics since my camera doesn't use a USB flash. XDThis is pembroke college, where I'm staying and studying in Cambridge :)

King's college in Cambridge, just down our street.
This is similar to the view from my painting class. Yes, I know I have an awesome view from my classroom. lol. jealous much? j/k XD
We visited the elephant house where JK Rowling first wrote Harry Potter. I also splurged on the first 3 Harry Potter books. heh heh.

Edinburgh, Scotland!
Edinburgh castle :DOk, that's enough pic stealing for me, hope Sally doesn't mind. lol...

Brilliant
I have been in Pembroke College for a total of 4 days and it's been pretty awesome so far. I wouldn't say the same about one of my classes but oh well... I'll get by somehow.
So far, I've seen my fair share of phone booths and I've become pretty accustomed to the accent. Those phone booths are pretty dirty and are really overrated. lol. I mean, they are pretty cool on the outside cuz they're red, but inside, they really smell and there are cigarette ashes everywhere. eek.
The food here in England is overall really bland. I need several packets of hot sauce before it begins to taste "american". Too bad they don't serve hot sauce here and my taste buds are totally burnt from eating too much spicy food. XD The formal dinner food is REALLY REALLY excellent though. I also wore a dress to the formal dinner which felt really awkward. I still feel like a boy in a dress. lol.
The really painful thing about England is the exchange rate. It's over $2 to £1 which really sucks. I really feel the hit in my wallet whenever I go to exchange my money. So far, I've only gotten about £140 for the $300 that I've exchanged. Everything here is double the price of the US. I catch myself taking pictures of prices because they are just THAT outrageous.
But putting all that aside, it's been really great so far. I should just work here and get really rich with the £ and then go to the US and change it to dollars. XD YES.
I am leaving for Scotland (today actually lol) for 5 days. It's a 9 hour bus ride. O_O I heard it's supposed to be really awesome though. I'm looking forward to it minus the hike that gets you really wet and muddy since Scotland rains more than Cambridge. D:
Alrighty, guess I have to head off to sleep now. Seeya guys in 5 days :D

£90 POUNDS?!
I have horrific jetlag.
I haven't slept in about 30 hours.
but...
It's all good.
I'm in Cambridge, England!!! I don't think it's dawned on me yet where I am because I haven't slept. I could hardly sleep on the plane and the bus right was hard to sleep in too. I also saw this HUGE 8 car pile up on the highway that backed up traffic for 13 miles. D:
The traffic signals and paint on the pavement is so different here. They have those squiggly broken lines instead of straight broken ones in the states. The traffic signs are also really different and everyone drives on the right side of the car. It's so bazaar.
The plane ride was about 9.45 hours and it was so tiring. I was reading the new twilight book but then I got so restless because the flight was so long that I stopped at about 175 pages. The book is "EH". Maybe because I still think Edward is ridiculous at times and Bella is just stupid. lolEngland is so green and cloudy. It rains every so often here and there but never like for a long time. Today, it drizzled. The food at Pembroke is really good though and they served us smoked salmon for dinner. I love that stuff, and it's super expensive. mmm...yum. Like roast beef. lol
Pembroke University is such an old campus. It was founded sometime in the late 1800's. The dorm I am in is super old so the showers are in the basement. yes. the BASEMENT. lol. I was so creeped out at first when I realized that I had to go down 4 flights of stairs to take a shower since I am living on the 2nd floor. I have this HUGE single room with high ceilings and a ginormous window. It's like those windows that you see in a victorian house. Those 3 pane ones with tall curtains if you know what I mean. It's quite snazzy.
I was so caught up with packing clothes for england that I totally forgot to pack school supplies. It's quite sad. Now I have to pay like £5 for supplies and that's like $10.
Talking about money. I converted $200 into only £90. NINETY POUNDS from TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. My pocket hurt so much. T_T It like, bled. lol. wtf, the dollar pound ratio is £2.19 to $1.00. FUCK! fasjkfjs.
I went to an english bar today but didn't buy anything cuz I was too sleepy. lol. I think the drinks are reasonably priced at about £1.99 for a pint, even though I don't like beer. XD
I also saw multiple phone booths today. They were all so dirty inside. ew.
I was also sad that I didn't see Platform 9 3/4 today. I WILL hunt for it the next time I go to London >D
Alright, I really need to sleep, the jetlag is frying my brain, moreso than the £ to $ ratio. I can also type out the £ sign cuz I'm on a british keyboard. Their keyboard is so funky like.
I miss you guys.
Also, no pics until I return home. I forgot my cable. XD lols. At least I really hope it's at home...

"Bring me that horizon"
I did some last minute shopping today for dresses and I was actually successful. I bought 2 more dresses so that makes a total of 3. lol. I now own 3 dresses. That's like, a record. XD hahaha. Rachel went shopping with me and I put her through 3 hours of wondering and trying on multiple articles of clothing until I finally settled on 2. I actaully really like one of the dresses that I bought and I will probably wear it to a special event or nice dinner in the future. Too bad they didn't have it in teal so I settled for the cream version. I just gotta get tanner so it'll look right. lol.
I also still think I look like a dude in a dress but whatever. xD
So I still need to pack and I'm only taking one luggage and I'm kinda realizing that it's sorta hard to pack everything I need in it. I think I might have to downsize and buy a couple things that I need in England. The pound is totally going to be a killer though. I also don't think I can make it to the Breaking Dawn premier tonight since I'll probably be doing last minute packing. Oh well.
Hmmm... I'm wondering if I could bring my DS or if the high voltage is going to make the charger blow up. I also cant bring a blowdryer cuz I don't have a voltage converter so I'll have to buy one in England. My hair is gonna be all poofy and ugly looking without one. blah.
Ok, so tomorrow, I am probably going to the airport at around 11pm or earlier since my flight is at 1pm. This will be my last post in xanga until I arrive in Cambridge and have access to the computer room (since I won't have my laptop their either).
Alrighty all, sooooo... I bid you fairwell for 6 weeks. :) I'll be back in september! Hopefully all in one peice. XD

So Allen and I were shopping at Target this past weekend and I went to the shoe aisle to see if they were still selling converses for 7 bucks. My mom previously bought a pair of those 7 dollar converses for my cousin Brandon and she wanted me to get him a different size. I'm like "suuure ok".
After I found the correct shoe size for Brandon (which they only had ONE more pair left, lucky bastard. lol), I went along trying to search for a size 7 in these red converses that were on sale for only 15 dollars. I didn't find my size at first but then Allen told me to recheck and low and behold! I found one more size 7's. lol. The thing about these 7's was that it didn't have a price on it. I didn't really feel like taking another pair of the shoes to the cashier cuz I was lazy. XD
So when it was my turn to pay for my stuff, the cashier looks at the red converses and tries to find the price tag. She then asked me if I knew how much the shoes were and I was like "iono". LOL. Then Allen's all like, "we found them on the same rack as those shoes -points at Brandon's converses- (which were 7 dollars)". The cashier just looked at us with one eyebrow up and then we both SIMULTANEOUSLY just shrugged a couple times at her. Omg, I think she totally knew that we were lying right about then but she was too lazy to get a price check so instead she rang up Brandon's converses TWICE.
HAHAHAHAHA!!! I think Allen and I tried really hard not to laugh right about then.
Basically. We swindled Target of 7 bucks because my red converses I was purchasing cost about 15 dollars on sale and I got them for 7.
Allen and I laughed all the way to the exit. Hahahaha! It was actually a lot funnier if you were there experiencing this then of me telling you.
Yes, a pirate's life for us.
which I'm going to miss horribly the next 6 weeks.
