| | Even if you are on the right track, You will get run over if you just sit there.
I wrap my arm around myself and look up at the stars. The sky is filled with them. There are more stars to see than the sky tonight. I think about how I used to look at a sky like this and it would make me feel small and insignificant. And tonight, as I look at the stars, I realize that I am starting to know my place among them. From the first time I met you, I couldn't take my eyes off you. I'll admit that there was always something I missed. It didn't matter if you were sitting at the front, or at the back, or talking to the person beside you, or if you were just by yourself. I could always from a crowd immediately identify you, know your position, & know where you are. It seemed wherever you'd go, there'd be light. But I kept thinking; if I didn't say it, then the next time we met there could be no more chances. There have been many times I gave up opportunities to profess to you. That time I told myself; No matter what, I'm not letting you go. Writing a poem is like seeing shapes in a cloud; the person next you hardly ever knows what the hell you're talking about.
I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing.
After all the fuck ups and fallouts With all the ups and downs and turn arounds Through all the breaking up to breaking down Yeah we were the ones to say, There might not be a next time
But we understand each other & we care about each other, & I believe that years from now we still will
don't look back, got a new direction i loved you once, needed protection you're still a part of everything i do you're on my heart just like a tattoo.
