  • Mother's Day

This is me with Evander on Mother's Day. We celebrated by going to church (we listened to "This American Life" on the way there), where I got a potted geranium. Score! So much better than a cut carnation, don'tcha think? Then we went to Indian food (I think we usually do that for most Sunday holidays - ha!) with the G. family, which was fun. And, no Mother's Day is complete without a trip to Costco!

Evander was a big hit at church. He was dressed up in a polo shirt, jeans, and an army green jacket (a hand-me-down from Lewis). He looked cute, and everyone noticed him.

Today both boys have been grouchy. Lewis has been fussing about everything, and Evander hasn't been much better. I decided to get us all out of the house today, so we went to Lowe's to look at lawnmowers (I know, what a great Mother-kids outing destination! ha ha!), and then to Target to be tempted by the gods of consumerism... man, they sure know how to appeal to my sense of "I want THAT!" Good thing I can mostly handle it... except for the dollar spot!!

We made a mothers' day trip to Costco too! I bought butter and 2 outfits for Tommy. At church, I got a little key chain tape measure/flash light combo. Also useful.

India Palace was fun.  I'm so glad I finally got to meet you and your sweet boys!

What a great Mom's Day!!! And Costco... who would have thought!? :)
But I need to know what the "dollar spot" is! I'd be happy with a Euro spot (=$1.55 today)
Evander is beautiful! What two handsome little guys!... and two cute parents!!!! oxox

I guess a "carnation" is universal... "we" were handed a single cut carnation (fragrant) at our village church today! (Leider, no potted plants!) And the message was Acts 2... the coming of the Holy Spirit. This being a Catholic nation, we also had Pentecost Monday as a national holiday! Tell J. that Werner was here from Gablitz looking at the Lewis-books!!! :)

    He is dressed up cute!
Apparently no one told you about the day after mother's day -- aka whiny kid day. ;)

@TwoManns - They have a place in Target now where they have an aisle of fun stuff that is $1... all kinds of useful and/or silly stuff...

    Love you guys!

    Cute picture!

I started listening to that episode of This American Life last night but I was at the dog park and there were soooooo many distractions. Going to try again today. I heard it was great.

I pretty much just have to stay out of Target. I hate that that dollar thing is right by the door. I mean, they know what they're doing, obviously. Last year I got a bunch of "The Office" stuff there--post-its, pens, a couple of coffee cups, etc. etc. etc. All my notes at home are on "I (heart) Jim" paper.

Evander looks like he's actually posing for this shot! They learn fast.  My Mother's Day was celebrated on Thursday and Saturday before...and more is to come when Robyn comes up in a week or so.  We low-keyed on Sunday due to such crowded eateries!  Our Long's has a $1.00 spot too...not as good as Targets though.

@officeconfidential - I got a bunch of the DWIGHT stuff... ha ha.
