| | I'm not sure whether I mentioned this before, but I totally have a change of view in history aft taking Hist of Sci 205. (dunno when to use this one, so.......... )
I never expected I would enjoy history that much! In fact, I took American Hist at the beginning of the semester, but then......it was simply......tough and I even couldn't understand the syllabus! Then I had the Hist of Sci!
We learned about the hist of many diff fields of sci, Econ, Philo, Psycho, Phrenology, and now...Anthro! The focus is not the scientific theories, instead, it's the progress of ideas.
I like Phrenology and Anthro the most! Phrenology is the study of the skull and by measuring the size, the phrenologists could determine the functional regions of the brain! They may cut half of the brain of a dog and found that it couldn't walk in straight line and fell very often! It's quite a novel subject to me!
I bet Hist of Sci is very helpful for science students. We need to know the math , the theories, but also how someone came up w/ the thoughts. It's quite rewarding and worth learning. It's one of the rare subjects that I really enjoy and can take sth away aft this semester...........unlike AAE 215.................. ................what is federal funds rate?????????????? |
