FYI

For those that know Derrick and Amy Ingle.

If all goes as planed they should have a little one by tomorrow morning! I'm sure they would appreciate any and all prayers that things go smoothly.

Update!

Not much to update on. But thought I would post a short entry.

School is now back into full swing. I have 23 students this year compared to the 31 I had at this time last year. I have a couple that are keeping me on my toes but none like my one child last year. I have a few space cadets as well but over all my class is off to a much better start this year than last year. I'm really looking forwards to the rest of the year!

Ryan came down this past weekend. Each time we see each other it just gets harder to say goodbye.  He arrived last Friday night and we just hung out at my grandmothers place where he was staying. Saturday I took him and Elijah out to Science Center here at Union station and I'm fairly certain that Elijah's favorite thing was the three hold mini-golf. I think he played about 10 rounds. Saturday night we had dinner with the family and he got to meet my aunt and uncle on my mothers side. Then we started I Am Legend. We didn't finish because it was time to put Elijah to bed so we head back out to my grandmothers place and just hung out. Sunday was church and lunch at the Golden eggroll. I wanted to go to Burr Oaks but I had a massive Allergy attack and decided it best not to chance it. So, Ryan and I finished I Am Legend While Elijah played Wii upstairs. Ryan and Elijah left around 4:30. He called me about about 9 or so to tell me he had made it home but I must admit I don't remember much of the conversation because my allergies took it all out of me. I was just glad that he made it home.

I'm sure there is more I could update about, but my cough is coming back. Time for some medication!

Death

I was able to attend the Visitation for Nick Lambros last night and can say without a doubt that he was loved by many. Sadly I wasn't able to attend the funeral today but heard that it was a nice service.  When I got home today I opened an envelope from the Long beach church of Christ and read this story that I thought was fitting.

A sick man turned to his doctor as he was preparing to leave the examination room and said, "Doctor, I'm afraid to die."

He continued, "tell me what lies on the other side." Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know." "You don't know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"

The doctor was holding the handle on the door; on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining, and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.

Turning to the patient, the doctor said "Did you notice my dog? He's never been in this room before. He didn't know what was inside. He knew nothing except that his master was here, and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear. I know little of what is on the other side of death, but I do know one thing...

I know my Master is there and that is enough!"

Nick, you will be missed.

Anyone..... Anyone?

I know I was just up in Iowa but I'll looking for someone to ride up with for the Labor day meeting.  I'll pay half of the gas money, and bring snacks! Any takers?

My trip so far.

I've been up in Iowa now for over a week and a half and haven't made any post since I've been up here. So here's what's up

I got up here Friday the 1st and Ryan took me out for a picnic not far from his parents house. It was nice to just be able to relax after a three hour car trip. During the day I've been hanging out at Ryan's house watching the kittens while he is at work.

Ryan's dad was nice enough to let him have the day off on thursday and we were able to spend the day at the sate fair. I have never been to the Iowa state fair and it was an experience for sure. I have to admit that the tractor promenade (Pictures to come) was the funniest thing I've ever seen.

Other things I've done since I've been up here.

* Lunch with Grandma Nora Lee after church, always delicious.

* Double date with Ryan's older brother and his wife at the Craig Morgan and Josh Tuner Concert at the fair.

* Vandalia Basket dinner!

* Iowa Speedway.

* Elijah's 6th birthday

* Walks around Gray's lake

* Swimming pool just large enough to flote in.

* Finished two books and I'm well into my third.

* Breaking Ryan's Big toenail off. (Not on purpose!)

Things yet to come

*Triple Boweling date tonight. with Devon and Erin and Derrick and Amy.

* Possible movie afterwards.

*Omaha Zoo on Saturday

*Vandalia on Sunday again.

I'm sure I'm missing something but that's all I can think of.

It's going to be a rush when I got home. I have to go straight to work on Monday and it's nothing but PD and working in my classroom until the Following Monday when I have kids for the rest of the year!
